Yuck!

Those people should be fined and have their junk cars impounded at their expense.

If your town doesn't enforce no-junk laws then go to the city government and see what you can do to make it happen.

Yes they should and where I live it's finally starting to become enforced. People here receive a notice from the city/county telling them to clean up and they have so many days to do it. If they don't comply then they have to attend a hearing to give a reason why they haven't. They are given a second chance but if they still don't clean up then the city/county does it for them and gives the property owner the bill. If they don't pay the bill then they get taken to court.

They are sometimes unsightly , but some people don't have money to throw around to get them fixed . Also I think as long as they don't become a fixture maybe they should have to move it around , just to be able to clean under it . Or even a time limit (within reason) for them to keep it without renewing the tag or getting it fixed .

Have you been to New Orleans lately? It's been over 10 months, and just this week, the city has finally begun towing all the flooded abandoned cars.

I live out in the country but the city that I work for has ordinances and they enforce them.

That's disgusting...glad I don't have any.

You can call your city code enforcement division. They'll take care of it - trust me (unless, maybe, it's in the ghetto and in that case, they might take a lil' bit longer). The offender can be fined.

I live in Brooklyn, so junked cars get towed away pretty quickly.

Who cares? Are they hurting you? I don't care if our neighbors stick a tire-less truck on cinder blocks and paint it purple with orange stripes! Never judge a book by its cover, and never judge your neighbors by their yards.
