As far as I'm concerned, these men and women are brave and courageous. I am proud of them and fully support them. I don't agree with the war though - as far as I'm concerned we have no business being there.

I support our troops all over the world. My point is: you can't get mad at them for doing what they do because it is their JOB! What makes me angry is when people are disrespectful about our troops - like those HORRIBLE, disgusting people who try to defamate fallen heroes during funerals. I mean, that's like getting mad at the postman for delivering mail!!!

And to the Army veteran Bob G: it's because of brainwashed, uninformed people like you that those troops are getting killed. I may have opinions but I have no official political affiliations - and I most certainly am not against the war to "support the enemy" or "get my party back into office". Yours is without a doubt the most ludicrous, ridiculous and downright STUPID answer I've read.

I'm glad you feel that way. You are completely right to support our troops. They did not start this war, they are just doing their job.

If you make the enemy think that if he just hangs in there he will win by default - yes it is! I fought in Vietnam, and I believe the war was lost at home not in SE Asia. Forget the last election and get on with it. You can be against Bush, but don't come up with all sort of stuff on the war in order to try to get your party back in power.
Making the enemy feel good by being against the war is not supporting the troops, you are just getting more of the troops killed and wounded.

I'm in the Army, thank you for your support, how do you show it? what do you do to support the troops? If you don't support the war, that's fine, think of a way to stop it that won't make matters worse. I'd love to not go back to Iraq. My personal opinion is were doing Good over there. I'm sorry you don't agree, but that's ok.

Yes it is OK. My brother was in the military during the first Gulf War and he knew that as a family we did not support the war, but that we supported him and the rest of the troops 100%. He himself didn't even support the war, but had to go along with it. So, it's OK. Don't feel guilty.

I don't think that's a conflict of interest at all. As a matter of fact, I wish there were more people like you out there. I personally believe that the war in Iraq was necessary, and I don't get angry with people who believe it's not necessary, but I do get upset when people take it out on the troops.

I have been involved with Soldiers' Angels for about two years now and it has been a very rewarding experience, in large part because I do not have to support someone else's ideology or political baggage. The organization matches you up with an individual to correspond with and none of your money (except for an initial $10.00) goes towards the organization's overhead. You can find them on Yahoo! and they also have a very supportive membership as well.

I agree with your beliefs 100%. I do not agree with the fact that there is a war, I don't think there is any reason for us being there. But however, I believe that our brave men and women are over there fighting for our freedom and they have my support all the way.

You have the right to feel as you want. You are not alone in your thoughts and I and many others appreciate your honesty. I'm glad you support our troops. Nobody wanted this war, but sitting back and not addressing it would have been far worse decision.

I totally agree with you, 110%. If it is a conflict of interest, then too bad. I fully think our troops are heroes, despite not agreeing with our government for risking their lives by sending them there in the first place.

It is not a conflict of interest to think this. Many people, in fact, think this way. It is good to support the troops in wherever they are (you did not specify though I am assuming you mean Iraq).

All of the troops you "support" volunteered to be in the military. In claiming to be against a war, you are against our chosen profession.
