They are imperialist that invade tribes and corrupt their beliefs. Instead of taking land, they conquer culture and breed corruption by giving them tabbacco and stuff.

What did Hitler ever do to you to cause you to make a comparison like that?

Give the guy a break, he wasn't that bad.

No, Hitler's second coming is called the AntiChrist and he will be 10x worse than Hitler. He will do abominable things to people that Hitler never dreamed of. He will have power that no other human being has ever been able to muster with evil forces not only behind him but in him. He'll even be able to convince people that he is the answer to all of man's problems and most everyone will believe it. Have you seen movies of the holocaust and the terrors the Jews went through in just trying to get back to their homeland afterwards? Do you really understand how horrible what Hitler did was? You really should do some research about these things. Do some more research into what missionaries actually do - call ABWE. While it is true - that some missionaries do corrupt culture - alot of missionaries do not do that - it's not corrupting beliefs - it's bringing them the greatest joy their lives have ever known. In many cases, turning cannibals into people who love. That's miraculous and that is good. It's connecting people with the real and living God - not connecting them with a imperfect human being such as those who belonged to Hitler's regime.

Ummmmmmm no.

1) If all Hitler had done was try to change people's beliefs, he wouldn't be the despised, infamous historical personage that he is today. But he didn't just try to change people's beliefs -- he ordered the extermination of millions of people.

2) People's beliefs change all the time. You could just as easily argue that the Enlightenment and the Rennaissance were evil because they "destroyed the culture that people so wrongly called the Dark Ages." I'm not saying that the tribes whom missionaries visit are "uncivilized" -- that would be getting back into the whole "bringing civilization to the unwashed masses" tripe -- just that cultures come and go. (Before too long, it will be America's turn.)

3) Tobacco? Are you serious? Are you honestly confusing the colonization of the Americas with modern-day missionary work? Do you *not* see a difference? Missionaries these days are far more likely to bring medicine, schoolbooks, and good dental care with them. Sorry if you consider that a crime.

Woah! I don't know that this deserves an answer. I don't know how you could come to that conclusion! To teach someone a religion is to let them use their mind and heart to make their own conclusion. Missionaries cannot force anyone to believe what they are saying. It is through what they do for the people they serve that they win people over. Look at Mother Theresa. Hitler gave NO choice. He killed people based on their religion. Missionaries give up so much for others. Instead of staying in there cozy little American homes they take themselves and families to countries that are ignored by most. They help the helpless, the countries which are stricken with aids and have no hope...you won't find many 'outsiders' there but you will find missionaries who are helping any way they can. To dare to compare them to Hitler is just ignorant. If you do not like what they are teaching, then get out there and do something with those same people. Go serve them.

Well, I partly agree with you. Missionaries are in it for themselves. They cannot leave well enough alone. Without knowledge of the Good Word, people are saved because they're ignorant. But Missionaries go out into foreign lands and invade tribes preaching about the Good Word, and essentially pulling a rug out from under them.

These people were saved until the Missionaries showed up. So yes, in that since they are like little Hitlers, sending these people to a death camp known as Hell if they don't believe in Christ.

Yes. Because they take away the rights of others to choose.

Poverty in some parts of the world is a created situation and
therefore missionary work in those parts is also a created
situation to convert people to christianity through monetary
means. The whole cycle of the church and missionary
work is totally wrong. People should be allowed to choose
their own beliefs and ways of life.

First of all, I love you!!! *hugs* ;)

Second, missionaries are an evil that far surpasses, and by more than a Milennia precedes that of puny little Hitler. Adolf's second coming; no. The Nazi regime was less than a pawn in their game of seeking total world dominion. To some degree, he/they were a pain in their collective cabooses, trying to leap frog them in their own designs. Yep, that pizzed them off!

That is in fact their name BTW; Dominionists. With any luck, they all will be rounded up and deprogrammed before they cause enough damage to be the obliteration of us all.

And I am Sooooo not kidding!

Over 40 years ago, they saw all of the long hair, sex, women having a say, birth control, nudity, freedom of expression, etc infinitum, and took it as a challenge that individuality must be beaten down again. Everyone must conform to a pattern that makes them more docile and obedient to their "suggestions". Hey, you've got to hand it to them, they have really kicked our azzes! Despite fixing elections, causing 9/11 and the subsequent wars, they have a huge , and I mean effing amazing percentage of the sheeple convinced that this is all for their own good.

Are they going to ever stop thumping their bibles korans and torrahs long enough to consider the consequences of their lemming-like rush to some afterlife salvation? That there may be no generations to follow them soon? That their own actions are the very evil they are programmed to preach about?

I don't know. That is an awe-full lot of kinetic energy to stop it on a dime.

Barely deserves a reply, but perhaps some of this will sink in. I don't agree with any aid based on religion. The best way to spread your beliefs if to live by example. I personally don't care what anyone else thinks as long as it doesn't interfere with my life or my future.

Missionaries mostly have good intentions. Sometimes they have a one-dimensional view and do not understand that native cultures have as much validity as their own. I personally think it would be a good idea to limit religious groups to entering countries to aid the population, but not to spread the "word". It strikes me as immoral to place conditions on aid to areas often poverty stricken.

NO, I'm friends with some missionaries, and somehow, they miraculously haven't converted me yet. It's part of their relgion, and long as they're not hurting anybody, missions are fine. I think perhaps people like you who judge people so harshly without even taking the time to get to know them first are more likely to be Hitler's second coming. If they bother you that much, just don't open your door when they come knocking.

I don't agree in the least. While I don't believe beliefs of any kind should be forced on people, I think religious organizations providing aid and the opportunity to learn about Christianity is a good idea.

No. Missionaries are fulfilling the work of God when he said, "Go ye out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in." He didn't say to drag them by the hair to church; He only wants witnesses to step up and deliver the Gospel to the "oppressed and poor" as some people are referred to in Scripture.
