I have driven that and here's what you can expect:

From Sacto to Salt Lake City on I-80 in one day, spend the night

From Salt Lake to Cheyenne, Wyoming on I-80, then take I-25 South toward DEnver, spend the night;

From Denver to St. Louis, Mo, on I-70 spend the night;

From St Louis to West Va on I-64, then take I-77 south to I-40 and that to Raleigh. Now if you don't want to drive 12 hour or more days, add a day to this.

It depends on how many hours you're planning on driving in a day. I once did NJ to AZ in 4 days. So I'd guess it'll take you probably around 5, maybe 6 if you take your time.

Barring delays due to weather, road construction, etc. it should take you about 2 days (non-stop). Or 4 days if you take a couple of long breaks.

Have fun.
