No, Its Because They Are Getting Old And They Are Gonna Die Pretty Soon, They Don't Have Anything Else Better To Do Either. Basically They Know They Are Gonna Die Soon, And If There's A God, They Are Goin To Heaven.....Dude I Know, I Asked My Grandma....lol

There are many possibilities, and I'm sure that for each person the circumstances are vastly different. I didn't come to Christ until I was 39 and when I did...my life changed so much I honestly regretted the years I wasted not coming sooner.
To answer your question, I'd say that the closer to death someone gets....the more they need to know that there is something more. It is said that there are no athiests in foxholes....something I heard in the military meaning that when the bullets and bombs are hitting all around us you'll find everyone praying.

I used to believe this, but now that I am an old person, I realize it is a fallacy. Most old people have been around long enough to see through their earlier influences, and have disposed of them. We are seekers just like people of other ages, and now that we are educated, we are not easily fooled.
I disagree withh some of your other respondents
who seem to think we are afraid of death. "If Heaven is such a wonderful place, how come so many people are trying so hard to not go?"

Because they're more mature and wise.
They don't worry about trying to impress people like all you stupid 12 year-old kids who say "I'm a Atheist" just to draw attention to yourself even though you have no logical basis or reason for your "belief."
Older people don't care about impressing people. They know, just as everyone else should that there IS a God and giving your heart to him does not make you weak or reliant.
Once you grow up, you'll start feeling differently.

They have lost many of their friends, through death or because they have moved, they are retired an no longer work, and older people are more aware of their own mortality, that they won't be aound much longer, and want to be sure that they are "right" with God, and want to pass away peacefully before going to Heaven.
Also older people are very lonely and desire to feel close to someone.

Because they have more wisdom. There is a new trend now that young kids are getting more religious than past. It is because they are living in information age where they have all the information on their finger tips. These young kids have more information about their religion.

Probably because they have nothing else to do and so they have plenty of time to realize that they can start learning about zgod and the Bible which sometimes I wish I could have that much time

Or maybe they realized that they spend in vain all their life rushing for materialism there where material has to be passed by, this is the way of materialism but our way is to not wait oldness for doing what older people usually doing!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's because they're more afraid of death and the idea of an abrupt end. I'm sure they'd like the idea of an afterlife or reincarnation.

It's cuz they come to the end of their lives and they realise that it is soon going to be too late for them to be in good terms with God.
They want to assure their place in Paradis
