That looks like it was like pressed on it and not spread. How can I do that?

Most typically that is a "fondant" which is an icing which is poured as a thick liquid that sets (hardens) or as a thick rolled blanket which is laid over the cake and gently pressed into place.

A smooth texture on a cake can also be achieved by lightly smoothing the icing with a damp paper towel.

The frosting you are referring to is called fondant. It can be found in "Michael's" craft stores in the cake decorating section. You can also check out this link for all kinds of good baking supplies:

Maybe you are talking about fondant. Fondant is a layer of sugar-type icing (not quite frosting) that that be draped over the cake...

it's fondant, you can make it or they sell it in buckets at places like michaels and cooking stores.
