When you put on a deep conditioner, it opens up you hair cuticles so that the protein and moister can be sealed in. It should only be on there for that time period. If you leave it on too long it only makes you hair more suseptable to breaking because the cuticles are not being allowed to shut.

The truth is, after 15 mins, it doesnt do anything anymore. It literally stops working. Your hair only takes in so much at one time, when it has recieved all the protein it needs, its stops for that day.

Instead of using Mayonase, Try these real Conditioners

I use "Motions CPR" Conditioning Treatment EVERY week. After you wash your hair, use CPR, put a plastic cap on and sit under a hooded/bonnet hard-hat dryer for 10-15 mins, then wash it out. (This is Deep Conditioning) And this is the BEST thing you can do for weak, thin, dry or damaged hair... hint *CPR (Critical Repair and Treatment). It really does seal you hair cuticles and flood them with protein and moisture. It repairs your hair and make it so much stronger and grow fast too. It also keeps your hair healthy even if it already is. It's great!!!

That will stop the breakage and add moisture. The next thing you need is a Protein Restructurer. Perms/relaxers and other harsh treatments distroy the natural protein-bonds in our hair. This will not rebuild them, but it will resturure the bonds that you do have left. (Thats why its best to use a weaker perm because it doesnt cause as many bonds to break.) Motions has this also and it works really well to start restructuring your hair. Healthy hair will hold moisture better.

it's going to make you scent like a salad with greasy hair! quite-some human beings believe that putting mayo on your hair will problem it and make it smooth and glossy. yet you ought to shampoo your hair countless situations to get all of it out, so that you once you wash away the mayo, you also wash away too most of the organic oil on your hair. you eventually end up in about a similar position you all started (or with even drier hair), minus some mayo and a gaggle of shampoo. this is extra constructive to get a great conditioner that is made for hair instead of making use of mayonnaise.
