i ask this because America is in the middle east trying to help them defend themselves from terrorist and and horrible government but they won't help poeple in Africa in the Genicide where terrorists are throwing babies in pits of fire and boiling water and torturing the people. If they can help in the middle east they can help with the genicide crisis in Africa.

No! Originally Africa was populated by many many tribes. They didn't reallyl get the idea of political or country until around 150 years ago or 100 in some case. So of course when someone try to pit the tribes together and make political party out if it, it will cause chao among eachother. So now they're basically a country with at least 5 to 10 different political party that belong to different tribes. So this just cause lot of problems.

Even if we go and try to help them, give them what they need, and get things settle. After a month, they all will mess it up and start war again.

So it's waste of soldiers' life and time, our economy, and everything else.

well frankly, after Iraq, I don't think the US is the best candidate when it comes to taking the interests of the people of other countries at heart. Africa has been and still is a war-torne continent, quick and sudden intervention from a 1st world army won't solve anything, where will it start? there r something like 48 countries in Africa, each with its own unique set of problems. You need to change people's mindsets and traditions through education etc. Its a long-term process, that is best adressed by starting to create employment where its needed and bringing better health care and so forth. Once you put someone in charge that favours certain groups of people you've got trouble on the horizon. A balance comes when all peoples can benefit somehow and learn that its better to live than to kill.

The problem with the crises in Africa is that there are no good long-term solutions.

Every time we try to help over there all we do is delay the inevitable for a few months.

Look at Darfur for example - everybody thinks that the US (not them of course!) should do "something." However nobody seems to be able of figure out just how to get this "something" done.

Give us a plan and we will consider it.

I think this is a terrible issue, but I would like to remind everyone - we are not the only country able to help the world. Other countries really need to step up to the plate and start helping!!

We have our hands full right now with protecting our own country, and we do help many other countries with aid and what not...

I wish we could make the world 100% peaceful, but we can only do so much.

America, being the wealth powerhouse it is, cares only of money. They see that the Middle East sits on oil, what is in Africa but starved Africans and warlords?

P.S. They are also kidnapping kids and turning them in to killers for the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda.

Why dont you volunteer with some peace organization, and go there yourself to help out. Are you willing to go volunteer today and go over there tomorrow and help out? They dont have enough people in the military because people dont want to volunteer and help out. If enough people would join the military we would be able to help Africa, but as of now, the military is short on man power.

This is probably the kind of thing that we really should be doing, but it always comes down to time and money, and someone in the world would still end up hating us anyway.

Right now, we need to worry about our security. While what they are doing in Africa is horrible and wrong, they are not a threat to us.
