Okay, I've just answered the "Aren't Christians hypocrites?" for the millionth time. Here's the thing. I'm not perfect and I'm not saying that I am. If any Christian claims to be perfect, then he/she is lying. Every human being on the face of this planet is a hypocrite in one way or another and Christians aren't the only ones who do this. I'm not perfect, I'm just forgiven of my sins. I'm sorry if I fall short of your standards that you put on us. All I know is that God forgives me. Even if you don't believe in Him, could you please forgive me for being human?

Don't be sorry! No one, even Christians, should claim that they are perfect, although, as a Christian myself, I strive for perfection. Maybe the term "perfection" should be clarified. It's not necessarily meaning that you NEVER sin or make mistakes: perfection is a maturity or completeness - that is what I strive for, that is, to be more mature and complete in Jesus.

I'm happy to hear that you are forgiven as well. Praise God for His mercies - they are new every morning! ^_^

God is perfect. We're not. That's why we need a Savior. Jesus paid it all - sins past, present and future. But that doesn't mean that a Christian is all about sinning with a guilt free conscience and it doesn't mean that we're perfect. It does mean that you should find Christians being the ones to admit when they are wrong and using the words I'm sorry - will you forgive me. You should be able to see a pattern of change for the better in a Christian's life as one grows and matures. I've been thinking lately about all of the silly things I did in my twenties and I called myself a believer then and I still do now. But, boy have I made some mistakes and made myself look bad. The GREAT thing about being a Christian is that you can look back and say WOW - I'm not the person I used to be and I'm glad to have the Holy Spirit's guidance and help! Yes, I forgive you for being human!

No one's perfect, thats a fact. Only one has ever been perfect and that is Jesus Christ. From my own observations I have noticed that some of the most messed up people are in churches and are either christians or will be at some point in their lives. Why? Because God calls those who are weak and lost. To give them hope. So yes there are lots of hypocrits among the christians. I bet that they were hypocrits long before they became christians.
So I have no complaints and its good to see someone bring this up, I hear people complain all the time about it.

There is no such thing as perfection in the first place. You may be perfect for one task and not another, no one is better than another, just different. Oh and by the way, The saying goes that Jesus die for all of our sins, not just Christians. There where no Christians the time of Jesus Death, Jesus was a Jew. Why do Christians twist the word of God so horribly. I find it blasphemous.

Um, "Tones"... Catsup to the world.

Yes, Meg, the average Christian is a hypocrite... and many non-Christians are as well. Perfection? It doesn't exist among anyone walking the earth today... not the Pope, nor his bishops or cardinals or priests or nuns. Not the preachers or the pastors or other self-proclaimed ministers of christianity. Nor the Rabbi or any other higher order associated with the (how many?) religions of the world. Those people make theology their life-study, but not perfect... as people, or in their interpretaions of a bible or other writings and, certainly, not in their sexual activities with many of the younger people of their 'church' who trust in their righteousness.

All you need do is believe in your knowledge that YOUR god forgives you of any wrongful doings if you are truly sorry within your heart. Don't ask or even care about the forgiveness of those of us who are in no position to pass judgement against you... we're as human as you!

Live in Peace

I feel that some people act like they're perfect no matter what they believe in. As for myself...I was brought up as a christian but now believe different things. I am glad that you know you are saved according to what you believe in but for others there is no such thing so it doesn't matter. But I'm happy for you and I don't care if you're not perfect...neither am I. Take care and I hope you have an amazing day!

I agree with you completely. I don't care if I fall short of other people's standards.

All religions teach morality. It's that bit about not judging others that trips so many up. So I don't care if others think I suck or am stupid for being a Christian because I'm at peace with my beliefs and I only care about God's opinion of me.

Now if only they'd all teach tolerance for those that believe differently. I don't care what you believe. Live and let live.

Unfortunately, too many people get too much pleasure from making others feel badly. I know you're not perfect, and neither am I. All I can say is I try sometimes to get it right. Will you forgive me too?

It is a beautiful thought you've shared. I will remember it for a long time.

I forgive you, and I ask you to forgive me.
Nobody is perfect, but some people (from all sides of the religious spectrum) don't seem to be able to realize this.

The important thing is that we learn to peacefully discuss and accept our differences. At the end of the day, they are all meaningless. After all, "we are only ordinary men", as Pink Floyd puts it in lyrics.
The important thing is that we unite to fight together those who want to divide people and promote hate between us (fundamentalists of all classes). Nobody is the owner of the absolute truth.

You have no reason to ask for forgiveness. you sound like a caring person. Try not to waste your time on the ignorant race, religion, and hate-mongers of the world. They will never be happy be assured that at least 80% of all people of all races , religons, creeds whatever are all good people trying to have happy lives. A small handful of losers are trying to ruin it for the rest of us.
