He's having to much fun outside with his friends and doesn't want to go into the house to use the bathroom, probably afraid he'll miss something.
I would suggest to keep him in your yard to play with friends and call him in to use the bathroom, maybe even having his friends come with and wait for him, he won't think he's missing out. Talk to him and explain that he needs to go to the bathroom and take a brake and let him know his friends will stop playing with him if he starts smelling like "pee pee", and also he can develop a rash or sores and he won't like that either and it will keep him in the house for a few days! Try using pull-ups for the time being until he gets more comfortable.
Good luck

Hello!!!!! Are you his parent or WHAT?! Start acting like a person of authority!

You need to jump his sh!t the SECOND he does it. March his little behind in the house and tell him straight up and forcefully that outside is NOT the place to do it; the ONLY place he pees is in the toilet. End of story.

He's probably old enough to understand crime & punishment. After a couple times of this, put him in time-out, or tell him he won't be allowed outside unless he stops his BAD behavior.
If need be, carry through; the first time you decide to do so, tell him that no, he cannot go outside because he is a bad boy and won't pee in the toilet. He WILL get the idea sooner than you think.

(an aside to this is: is he so involved in what he's doing that he's forgetting to go? If so, YOU need to be the one to remind him...every 1/2 hour or so till he gets the idea.)

You can help him with bladder control by teaching him how to stop and start the stream when he's going.
You can remind him to stop for a break and get him to go. But ultimately it sounds like he gets excited when he's playing and he could probably do with some help dealing with that. As he gets older other kids may be less tolerant, and he'll become aware that other kids don't so it.
See if your gp can give him a check up and advise.

Sounds like he's having so much fun playing he doesn't want to miss anything by going inside to take care of business. Try not letting him go back out if her urinates on himself or set required potty breaks. (ex . every 30 min)

Alot of times the wee ones forget to go potty cuz they are caught up in what they are playing. He will grow out of it as my son did. I made a game out of it with him...I made a small hole behind the garage and it was his secret space and when he had to pee he would run behind there and do it and he was proud of himself. Just give him time he will stop it

Actually it depends on how old your son is...if he is quite young then he may have a urinary problem or a bladder problem....other than that he may just be lazy.....several things work but training in self discipline is the best way to correct it...positive correction is best...negative reinforcement rarely works

i'm a medical student and u can visit a child psychiatrist for this problem. anyway, this condition happens for 5% of children. ther's a type of therapy called REWARDING-PUNISHMENT therapy. u give the rule to follow e.g. he must pee in bathroom, and if obey u reward him and if he doesn't u pubish him e.g. don't buy him candy
i dont know how much fluid your son take but u have to reduce it
i hope i was useful, good luck

My cousin did this lots and my daughter once. Kids get distracted and need to be asked if they have to go.... Sometimes if they are having fun, they say no and pee anyway. Just escort him to the tiolet every 30 min. or so. He will out-grow it:)
