For the US puzzle: I submitted 43025130, but later came up with 12412141 or 22311642. Here's how:

For the box lid, count the number of strokes it takes to make each symbol. You will get:
46446372

Now as to the different ways, I'll start with the one I submitted (which is probably wrong but I entered it before I thought of the other way):

Method 1: In the box, fit the triangles in each column together, making a whole box. Count the number of extra triangles and subtract the number of missing triangles (the first column is the only one missing a triangle which makes me doubt this method was correct).

The number I ended up with was:
03421242

If you subtract this number from the one on the lid then you get:
43025130

Method 2: Use the numbers from the lid to pick a row in each column. Count the number or triangles in that square. So for the first column you go down 4 squares and count 1 triangle. Going this way gets you the number:
12412141

Method 3: Just like method 2, but going across the rows instead of down the columns. This gets you the number:
22311642

I'd guess that the correct answer (for the US puzzle) is probably one of these 3. We'll just have to wait to find out for sure though.

Also, for those of you submitting 46446372, that's obviously not the final answer but is instead to be used in obtaining the answer. You can't just discount all the shapes in the box as meaningless. You have to use both the box and the lid together to get the correct solution.

I got 3667456

I drew the box top over the bottom, then each section became sets of 4, in each set of 4 I only counted the triangles. I had 16 numbers so I added the top numbers to the bottom numbers.
I didn't count triangles that were connected, just true trianges.
This is probably not correct.

I went with 6-3-4-4-4-2-2-2

I got this by counting the sides of the box (per triangle) in the shaded region of the box, (the one with the shadow). it would also be the right most row.

46446372

You count the number of lines on the paper for each symbol. Then you take that number for each symbol over to the box and for the first symbol there is 4 lines. Then you go over to the box and 4 rows down the first row is one triangle.

I think many people have beaten us, but someone's gotta win it!

When you go to enter the solution, it says it's a series of 8 numbers

Everlast and Amanda G, you better be right. I'm going with it. If my answer ends up being correct, I'm gonna flip.

That's a warning.
