I was looking for a way to install a wainscotting esque type partition in a small room in my home, however, I would love to use a toil inspired fabric print instead of wallpaper.
Any suggestions on how I can do this?

you can apply fabrics as wallpapers in several ways - the easiest is to use a staple gun and gently pleat it at top and bottom - then cover the staples with a small piece of trim.

or if you are looking for something a bit flatter you can use spray mount adhesive to put up a thin layer of dacron batting and then staple the fabric top and bottom while stretching it tightly.

if you really want to directly glue the fabric to the wall you might have to have the fabric paper or acrylic backed - which will have to be done by a professional.

what you DO NOT want to do is to try to directly apply the fabric to the walls with wallpaper adhesive - you will end up with a big blotchy mess.

Depends on the fabric.

A fabric glue should work to hold up the fabric. Try out a sample area and see if the glue doesn't leave any odd marks visible on the fabric.

Realistically though, it can be done easily if the fabric you are working with has two layers, in other words the lower layer acts as padding, then it would be easy to just glue the fabric to the partition without worrying about unsightly glue marks.

Check your wallpaper store. There are wallpapers made of fabric on one side and a standard paper backing on the other side. Because fabric is woven, it has lots of little holes in it. If you tried to paste ordinary yard goods to a wall, the cloth would absorb some paste, get wet, loose shape, allow glue to seep through the holes and generally become unmanageable.
It is always best to use a material for which it is designed. You wouldn't try to make a skirt of grass cloth wallpaper.

There are two ways you can do this - you can glue it up, like you would wallpaper (I know people who have used heavy starch or Mod Podge to do this so that it could be easily removed in rental units) or you could staple it and then use rope, chair rail molding, or ribbon to conceal the staples.

There is an antique finish glue for photos and fabrics. It doesn't look antique but it would work for a small amount. If that helps.
