Got a blind date tonight that was set up by a mutual friend. The circumstances of the situation and her attitude during our conversations so far make me think she's just going on this date as a favor for the mutual friend that set this up, which is exactly why I'm going, too. It doesn't seem like she has any interest, at all.
I'm not expecting any sparks to happen when I go out tonight, but how should I approach tonight and approach my date's uninterested attitude?

Show up with the book War and Peace..and start on chapter one and offer her a crossword puzzle.

It's a front she's putting on so she doesn't look desperate. Just be yourself and if she makes you feel uncomfortable during the date, cut it short. Have a friend call you on your cell around a certain time (maybe an hour after the date starts). You should know by then if you need to make an excuse to leave or continue on with the date. Just be relaxed and casual.
Things will go a lot better if the pressure is off the both of you and you're just treating it more of a "night out" than a "date".

You've got license to relax, not worry and enjoy yourself. Look on it as a cultural learning experience.

try to have as much fun as possible yourself, if she sees you having fun then hopefully her attitude will change and you can at least have fun together. i wouldnt recommend trying to play it as romantic but rather try and do something fun like mini golf, gambling, bowling etc....but hey what do i know
