Yup, some theists are so arrogant as to think they even have the right to tell you what you believe. There are those that say that atheists are all liars, that we *have* to believe in god, that it's not possible to not believe, we're just lying about it. *sigh* It's the worst kind of bigotry.

='( How did you get here? Magic? What created the universe? Is there any point to life? What is your purpose? Why do things happen the way they do? Why do you wonder if maybe there is a God? Why is it that nearly everyone, everywhere wonders if there is a higher power? None of these questions bother you at all?
How is it that if we came from monkeys why are the gradual changes between going from monkey to human not there and there is a gap in the fossil record? Why is it that, "What the fossil reord does show is that in rocks dated back some five hundred and seventy million years, there is the sudden appearance of nearly all the animal phyla, and they appear fully formed, 'without a trace of the evolutionary ancestors that Darwinists require.' It's a phenomenon that points more readily toward a Creator than Darwinism." (The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel page 92).

you are an atheist that is the only word to describe it. That is what it says in the dictionary. By the way i'm curious to know who said there's no such thing.

By the way I'm Catholic and wish people would stop thinking that we try to force people to be christian. I only talk with non beleivers that ask for answers but I never ram my beleifs down anybody's throat. If you don't wanna talk or learn about the religion whatever

Nonbeliever vs. Atheist
Many people are bothered by the label "atheist." Some believe that it communicates incorrect information about them, for example that they think they know for sure that no god(s) can or do exist. Others fear that it carries too much emotional baggage. Thus, many seek out something more neutral and respectable-sounding, even if effectively means the same thing.

First, I pray for you...

You have deceived yourself into thinking you can get through this life without any help. God created us with souls that WANT to worship. Everyone worships something. You, my friend, worship yourself. I pity you b/c you must feel an indescribable void in your life. How can you look at the details of space..planets, moons, etc...and NOT think there is a higher power involved? It takes MORE faith to believe there isn't a higher power...wow. Love and prayer to you...

Atheists can believe in the power of themselves, their heart, their family, etc without believing in a god or higher power. I guess some christians just don't get that.

Well, some agnostics are non-believers. Hell, even a Christian is a non-believer when it comes to every other religion... and even some of the denominations within their own religion.

So... everyone is a non-believer, now, aren't they? That said... atheists exist, and thank whoever for that, 'cause there's a few that I know and enjoy knowing.

atheist=non-believer.

Non-believer=atheist.

Galatians 5:21 - Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

the claim that there are no atheists is made by those idiotic people who like to beleive that weatheists ACTUALLY know there is a god yet were trying to eitherignore him or deny him. usually the claim is made by super-fundamentalists who cant understand the idea of people not beleiving in a god.

these people are so itnertwined in their religion that the ida of someone not beleiving in their god is astounding...so they go and claim that we atheists actually BELEIVE there is a god, but were just rebelling.

its idiotic and childish i know.

an atheist, by definition is soneone who has no beleif in a god. if you fit that mold yo uare an atheist. no dumba*s slack jawed bible clutching moron can tel lyou otherwise. if they do then reccomend a dictionary and tell them to go pray in a corner or something.

There is God and he is very real, think on this; Who wakes you up? When someone dies do they just say ok I have lived long enough it's time to die now and then what? God is very alive whether you choose to acknowledge him, this is why he gave us freewill and that is to make the choice on our own to serve him.
God will not hold us accountable for what we dont know only for what we do know so it's up to you and only you to decide which road you will take. Remember your parents didn't give you life they were just vessels used to get you here.
