pollution of groundwater

I deal with groundwater pollution every day, its my job

its a serious problem in some places yes, especially around gas stations, dry cleaners, industrial facilities where chemicals were historically handled and in agricultural areas

polluted groundwater is being cleaned up by various methods, institutional controls have also been developed to protect groundwater in places where it is threatened, many laws have been created in the past 30-40 years with the intent of protecting and cleaning up groundwater

groundwater can also be a problem where it is being depleted by overuse or where it is shallow and affects building foundations

your question is very general and I don't have enough time to go into greater detail, check with your state's department of environmental quality and the EPA for more information

Many things are absorbed in the soil such as poisons, chemicals for agricultural purposes, insecticides, and they are not readily or easily removed. Even at present they are unable to remove all these toxins but do so in what they state is an acceptable level for human consumption, over time these levels and the contamination will increase, making it more difficult perhaps eventually impossible to remove for human consumption.

Can you refine your question? Are you asking about pollution of ground water, or depletion of ground water?
