To me, Ray Bradbury sums up exactly my feelings in his book, "The Martian Chronicles", when he says....
"Spender led him over into a little Martian village built all of cool perfect marble. There were great friezes of beautiful animals, white-limbed cat things and yellow-limbed sun symbols, and statues of bull-like creatures and statues of men and women and huge fine-featured dogs.
'There's your answer, Captain.'
'I don't see.'
'The Martians discovered the secret of life among animals. The animal does not question life. It lives. Its very reason for living is; it enjoys and relishes life. You see--the statuary, the animal symbols, again and again.'
'It looks pagan.'
'On the contrary, those are God symbols, symbols of life...'
The captain remarks that the Martians seemed naive. Spender replied in what I find one of the most basic
and meaningful definitions of art and science that I have come across:
"They blended religion and art and science because, at base, science is no
more than an investigation of a miracle we can never explain, and art is an
interpretation of that miracle. They never let science crush the aesthetic
and the beautiful."
That sums up my feelings. Religion will never be able to disprove science, and science will never be able to disprove religion. Both are incompatible, yet meaningless without each other.
Science is the understanding of the world, and religion is the amazement at that understanding. The sole purpose of life is, to me, to simply LIVE.
Enjoy life. Live. Be. Exist.
That's the whole purpose of it.

The meaning of life can be many things to many people. For me...I feel that we are put here to learn and to love. We are here to help our fellow men and women, be kind to animals and take care of the earth. We are here to discover and get things "ready". Ready for what?I have no idea. It's just what I feel inside. I also think the meaning of life includes us being happy, sad, angry...we are supposed to experience those emotions. The meaning of life will always be a mystery....lets just enjoy the fact that we have one and do the best we can with it. Take care and I hope you have an amazing day! :)

To make the most of the time given by enjoying life, do well at what you do, help others, and worship God. Everyone is here for a reason, but they must discover what it is and it varies person to person. I believe that God has a plan for everyone.

Toiling over this age old question is, pardon the pun, meaningless. Simply lead the life that puts a smile in your heart.

Life has no inherent meaning of its own. All the meaning any life has is What ever meaning we ourselves give it.
