I recently adopted a kitten from the local shelter. He was tested for Feline Leukemia and other ailments and all results were normal. Last night when I brought him home, I noticed he has one eye that is very weepy. Is this something to worry about? Can it be treated at home? Someone please help!

he may have a cold or allergies. your vet can give you an ointment to put in his eye. it is nothing major.

it is treatable. Just call a vet and explain that your cat has a weepy eye. they will probably say that the wee poor thing has cold in it. They will explain what kind of cream or drops to use and follow the directions. Thank you too by the way it is sincerely notable to know that people still care enough to love these poor unwanted or unfortunate animals. I am sure your new sweetheart will be eternally grateful to you for many years to come

I rescued a kitten out of an abandoned barn and it had the same problem. It is an eye infection and you will have to take it to the vet and get some cream to put on the bottom rim of the eye. If you have other cats they can get the infection from the kitten so try to keep them separated.

I would suggest that this is one a vet should take a look at. The dilated pupil may be a sign of several possible problems, including glaucoma, nerve damage, prolapse of the lens and tumour, sometimes a sign of problems elsewhere in the body as well, so examination as soon as possible would be advisable. Inequalities in the appearance of eyes should always be investigated.

I would suggest that you bring him to a vet to have it checked out. It might be an infection that he's somehow picked up along the way, or simply a blocked tear duct. He's your responsibility now, and a beloved and valued member of your family, so do what's best for him. If it can be treated at home, your vet will tell you so after he/ she has checked him over.
Good luck.

If weepy means like he or she is crying then either its just always like that to every cat because my cat has that to or bring it to the vet or put like cat medicine on his wet part but not in his or her eye ball because my mom did that to or cat and his eye is like all weird.

take it to the vet, may need antibiotics and while you are there talk to your vet about the possibilty of feline herpes. that is a symptom of feline herpes.

in the meantime give your kitten 500mg of l-lysine (you can get that in the supplement and vitamine isle at walmart) and you can give 12.5 mg of benadryl.
