I love labs but they take a lot of energy and patients they are a little crazy as puppies, I have only known on cocker spaniel and he tried to bite me, but that is not to say that they are a bad breed of dog. Go to the breed selecter on animalplanet.com

Labs are better. Cocker spaniels tend to stink.

Pit Bull! Heh sorry couldnt resist myself. I own a pit and am a lover. I have only owned a lab, but cockers are nice dogs. I guess it would depend more on what you are like as a person. You need a dog that will match your lifestyle. Are you active? Do you have a house or apt? Etc.

If you mean "better" I vote for the lab. Labs are great family dogs. Ours prowled the house each night checking on the kids. When she was sure everyone was in bed and OK she would then go to her cage to sleep for the night. She wanted us all together as a family before she could ever sleep.

I am partial to lab or lab mix. I don't think they have as many physical problems as a pure bred spaniel.

A Lab! Short hair is soooo much easier to take care of and deal with.
