In my opinion, it is not a waste of time to ask and/or answer legitimate questions. Most of the people here want to help others who are confused and have real problems which, for some reason, they do not wish to share with those they personally know. So, this is a great forum to seek help.

reading and answering your questions does seem like a waste of time. For me this site has been quite amusing but also quite informative you can get allot of different suggestions and ideas that can be quite helpful and I appreciate people taking the time and thought to answer.

I felt that the depth of this quetion deserved some serious consideration, and as such I decided to hire a crack team of investigators (not -doing- crack, just "crack" as an adjective meaning "good") to penetrate into the deeper meaning, and resolve to acquire an answer.

After many thousands of tireless milliseconds of study, they've reported to me the following charts of information:

Time Spent on Answers vs. Time Spent doing anything else:

The Average Person - 12%

You - 58%

Me - 99.999999%

Everyone else - 324 (to the 15th power) %

Now, when you further study the meaning of the word "waste" as posed by this question, we have to consider the other sorts of things that people do on a regular basis, especially where entertainment is concerned. After my "crack team" reported to me on these things, I decided (arbitrarily) that we cannot consider our time spent here on Answers as a "waste", as (just as doing anything else) we're only -spending- the time, and that time can't -really- be "wasted". It can only be -used-.

So, after all this deliberation, my final conclusion must be the following answer:

No.

I do. Some of the people on here really need their questions answered and if I know what it's about I answer them. It gives me an outlet. I am disabled and could not find a job that paid me to answer questions. So I do this.

I love wasting time doing this. I just recently got sent an e-mail by my supervisor because she noticed I was on here too much and told me not to be on the internet. Obviously I'm not listening. Oh well.....

YES! I always go on Yahoo answers. I don't know why, but it's just a fun way to waste time. ^_^

I personally have absolutely nothing better to do than to ask and mostly answer questions. This is how i am presently filling my time, otherwise i would be completely and unequivocally bored.
