I'm a licensed massage therapist in SC and am interested in becoming a physical therapist. I need info on: can I use massage education towards this and how much more would I need. Any legitimate info would be greatly appreciated. Have done some research myself but wondered if anyone has done it and could pass on advice. Thank you.

Each school will have their list of pre-requisites and will probably require that the classes were taken at a credible, recognized higher institute of learning. If your massage education came from a trade school, probably not. If you received some of your education at a local college or university, then the classes would probably count.

If you have chosen your main choices for schools, contact them. Some pre-requisites may count from massage school if you have a description of the course, number of credits earned, etc.

Good luck, I think you are making an excellent choice. Your experience as a LMT and working with patients in pain will help you regardless of the classes counting as pre-requisites for PT school.
