You have asked the best question I've ever read on here. I think you should write it on a postcard and send it to her- that way her kids will feel included when they check the mail.
"The sex wasn't that great...Can you leave me alone now?"

Let the calls go to voicemail, get "busy with other stuff" on the weekends, heck-find a new girlfriend if the sex is so bad/so important. It sounds like you need to create some distance here; many men have remedied similar problems by repeatedly staying at bars and pool halls until closing time-Done.

You don't have to be a d*ck about it. Tell her you're not interested in being with her. Be kind and leave out any details about how bad the sex was. Just say that there may have been a miscommunication about what you were both looking for.

If you've been around her for a while, she misses the attachment she feels for you. If you haven't, run. She's a little off. Just let her know that you think she is calling too much and don't let her use the kids as an excuse.

Tell her that you feel youre not compatible. She's a beautiful woman but youre not where you want to be right now in your life situation to have someone to devote the time they deserve and its best that you both realize this befor it goes any further, to avoid any hurt feelings. You think that you should just be friends or part as friends while you still can.

tell her you are looking into other relationships with other people. So, what are u saying, if you don't like there sex, you won't stay with them? that is just wrong., I mean, if someone is in love, sex shouldn't matter, but sounds like she was just a one night stand, but then again you say her kids miss her, how long exactly was you with her? AS for you, you shouldn't lead people on, which sounds like what you did, just to get her in bed, how else would he kids "miss" you?

Since there is no way of telling her that without totally embarrassing her , tell her you don't want to be in a relationship right now. That you have a lot of things going on in your life. Or use the classic guy line, it's not you it's me.

You've joined the Foreign Legion and won't return for 30 years. It's a very chivalrous way to go out...

If you don't want to date her here's a great idea.....tell her. It's that simple. You don't have to be rude about it just let her know you are not interested and if you are a gentleman you would keep the 'sex wasn't good' comments to yourself.
