I know there are a lot of you who have. Some I'm sure have read it a number of times.
I'm just wondering how the christians who have never read the bible can explain to me, an atheist who has read the bible, what is inside of it.

Serf just answered my question. I don't even have to read anymore. Man, where do these people come from? Now, I'm going to read the rest and try not to make myself sick.

I've never read the bible and I'll tell you why. First of all, I DO believe in God and Jesus. However, I believe a LOT of things in the bible are false and inaccurate. For instance, in order for Noah to have had two of every animal in the world on his ark, the ark would have to have been the size of 3 football fields. It wasn't. Things like that just don't add up and don't make sense. I think the reason is because the bible was written by man and it's been translated and re-written thousands of times. Another reason is I believe the bible is more of a guide on how to live....written by man as a way to scare and control us into living the 'right way.'
Now, just because the bible is nonsense doesn't mean there's automatically no God. God is real and so was Jesus.
You can believe what you want, but just because God and Jesus don't make sense to you and you don't believe in them right now because you're too young to understand what faith is does NOT make you an Atheist. It just means you're either misinformed and or ignorant.
Atheists are just that; ignorant fools who flat out deny there's a God with no logical reason other than 'if there a God, why has no one ever seen him?'
Well, you've never seen your kidneys, have you? No, but you know they're there, right? There are thousands of things all around us all the time that we can't see. Infrared waves, microwaves, emotions, germs, bacteria, plasma, atoms, quarks...all of these things are as real as you and me...you just need special tools to see them. Same thing with God. He's real - we're just not meant to see him yet. The 'tool' we'll use to see him is our soul and that won't happen until we die and move on to the next life.
You need to accept Jesus and God into your heart and stop denying they exist right now. Your soul is not something you should toy with.

I have read the Bible cover to cover many times. A Christian who hasn't read the Bible might not be able to tell you exactly what is in the Bible, but if they have the Spirit of God might be able to teach and understand doctrine without having studied. The Holy Ghost coverts and testifies of truth. The person either accepts or rejects that spirit. Many Christians including myself even though we read alot still will make mistakes, but for the most part the spirit of the law is there, rather than the letter of the law.

A few years ago when I was in highschool, I thought I knew Jesus, but I really didn't. I told myself I did, but I couldn't confess him infront of people, I didn't read the Bible, and I didn't go to church.(At this time i was unbaptized). Anyway, I had a good friend tell me about what would happen around the end of the world, and I started to absolutely not believe him, so I decided to read Revelations to see if this was true. Now, when I begun to read the Bible only about 5 percent of me actually really believed in Jesus, however the more I read, the more I couldn't deny. The point is, if you read the Bible and just believe a little in Jesus, you will start to see and understand.
To answer your question, I haven't read the whole Bible, but I have read about 75 percent of the new testament more than once.

Why is it when someone starts a question with "Christians..." a truck load of antichrist jump in to answer. I thought they where "Atheist" hummm, pretty fishy.
I have read the Bible from cover to cover. I follow a Bible study guide where you read a few chapters everyday. It took 2 years the fist time, and 6 months the 2nd. Oh course I read my favorite Gospels frequently.

No one with one eye and half good sense could read the Holy Bible and then claim to be an atheist. Even the devil believes the bible and trembles.
Galatians 5:21 - Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

I have read it a few times. Different passages of the Bible speak to me at different times depending on what I am going through. A passage that doesn't mean anything one day, can mean a lot the next time it is read. That is why it is encouraged that we read the Bible everyday.
The basic message of the Bible is the supremacy of Christ and how following Christ and being saved by faith is better than trying to earn your way into heaven. God loves you and has a great plan for you. Should you have anymore questions, please post it and we will do our best to answer you.

I have been of The Christian Faith for just over 6 years. I am 59.
I did not even own a copy of The Bible on the day of my Salvation
And I have yet to read it all... it is not inteded to be read from "cover to cover" It is a study guide to Salvation and the worship of God.. not a novel...
I can tell you that every thing I read in The Book... only confirms what I was given by God in The Truth of my Salvation...
I accept questions from honest seekers concerning the Christian Faith... you can contact me from the Contact page of my web site

The Bible (and there is only one, with different translations) is the story of mankind from beginning to end. It is the story of God and his relationship to man, man's rebellion, God's solution (because He still loves us) and the ultimate future of the world. If you really want to know the future, read the Bible. Yes, I have read it cover to cover but even one or two verses at the right time can change your life.

Just because you read the entire Bible doesn't make you understand it. You can read it and not understand or comprehend anything. If you have read it, then of course, that's great. I haven't read each line and each scripture but, I am sure that I have an overall good understanding and therefore, I believe that the Bible is the Inspired, Infallible written Word of God.

I have read it cover to cover. What do you want to know? Post the questions you have. The Bible is the History of God's Chosen people, the Jewish, in the Old Testament. The OT also contains prophecies and the laws of God. The foretelling of Jesus - Messiah, are also in the OT.
The New Testament - is the life of Jesus and fulfillment of the OT prophecies in regards to the coming Messiah. The NT contains the news that, through Jesus and his dying for our sins, we once again are made right with the Father in Heaven. The NT also gives prophecies and explains end times as it will be.
There is much, much to explain. PLEASE! Post your questions!
