The governor of my state as had a law passed that will go ineffect Aug.15,2006 . The law is you are not allowed to smoke in your car with anyone under the age of 12. The car I am driving is being payed for with my husbands hard work. they didnt pay for it how can they tell me what to do in my own car.It is my private property just like my home. what is next I thought this was America the land of the free. I want to know what I can do to be heard? How can I try to do something about this? how can I turn over a law? I live in Louisiana the gov. should be worried about more important things. thanks for all your help and for those who don't smoke that is your right not to well it is my right to smoke so be nice.

secondhand smoke is more dangerous for children, whose lungs are still developing. its common sense....

Apparently, they don't believe it's your right to smoke if someone under the age of 12 is in the car. I am guessing that you can smoke in that same car as long as the individual under 12 isn't in it?
