are you jealous? are you a monster? maybe you are a green eyed monster!
ha ha just kidding.
the gene for green eyes is recessive, but the gene for brown eyes is dominant. so that means that both your parents were carrying the gene for green eyes even if that's not what they have themselves. when they made you the two green eyed genes doubled up, which gave them a better chance of showing up in your appearance. but they are still recessive genes, and that's why they ony showed up in you and not your siblings.
what that means is that each of your parents have an ancestor that had green eyes. it could go generations without manifesting itself. this is part of the dice roll that we call procreation.
I think green eyes on dark skin is beautiful and don't ever let anybody tell you otherwise

Most likely it's just a recessive gene. Like with your skin color there are many different things that go into what color your eyes are. Every once in a while, a trait that isnt normally found within the family will pop up. It's just a matter of genetics. Don't worry about it and be happy you're so unique.

Well someone in your family apparently has the genes for green eyes. Just because they do not have them does not mean they do not have the genes. Some how the green eyed gene dominated over the brown.

Not to worry. It is only a one shot in a thousand, but it is possible for genetics to make a small mistake along the way. Normally, there may be no other way for this to happen, but It is possible. First, you need to do a family tree, and back it up with blood tests if possible, just to make sure your daddy is really your daddy. Dont' worry, green eyes look hot on a black chick. I am part native american and have gray eyes, and my neighbor is black and has grey eyes. Since natives would sometimes hide slaves and help them escape, he thinks that maybe he could have a little native american in him.

Any colour of eyes can be a throw-back in the gene pool somewhere. Green eyes are the most beautiful eyes in the world, enjoy them.

Most likely genes from a distant ancestor. I'm the only person in my family with artistic talent except my aunt, who recently passed away.

An Irishman shinnied up your family tree.
Be happy - we of the green eye persuasion are vastly superior to any other blue/brown/hazel/pink eyed creatures.
