I think you need to grow up actually. Personally I think Futurama described God best. Sometimes you have to do so little that it seems like you are doing nothing at all. If God sat around and ran our lives then we wouldn't have free will. If he did nothing that we can see then we would have no reason to believe. He does just enough that the believers realize he is there.
