If I had to choose - I'd go with a Boxer. Gentle and fun. Huskies SOMETIMES have aggression issues, but I suppose any dog can. It just seems to be more prevalent in that breed than Boxers.
I really like Golden Retrievers and Standard Collies as choices for large dogs. As for small dogs, I guess I'd go with a Boston Terrier or a Chihuahua (little spit fires) heehee

Are you asking because you want to get one and are looking for what more people like? There are pros and cons to either breed. You need to factor in where you live, how much time you can devote to exercise and what kind, if you want to rake up hair, etc. If you live somewhere that gets really hot, do the dog a favor and get the boxer. It's mean to make a dog like a Husky live someplace like southern Arizona for instance.
But..as for the question...how can one watch 8 Below or Snow Dogs and not want a Husky?

Huskey, with icy blue eyes, quiet streak, independence, strong, long hair, intelligent.
Personally, I prefer the All-American Babe Magnet Mystery Breed personally hand picked from the Humane Society Shelter.
Loyal, well tempered, lovable, and unique.

For a large dog, the huskey. But, I prefer Yorkshire Terriors. We have a registered Yorkie, weighs about 3 pounds. He is so much fun. He plays with us and barks at the guys when they wrestle with the girls. He is great.

I like boxers. Less hair. Smaller. Quieter. Tough looking dog with a sweet personallity.

Boxers are cool.
But I prefer a small to medium size dog that doesn't shed much...like a Schnauzer or a Bichon.
