This happened to me the other day: I got stopped at a stoplight, and behind me pulls up a car blasting it's stereo so loud that it was causing physical pain in my ears. I couldn't turn or anything, so I had to sit there with my ears in pain. I looked behind me, and the car was being driven by two tough-looking bald white guys.

I sent an email to the police about this, and it was ignored.

So what would you do in a situation like this?

This what I do...kinda immature but it usually scares the crap out of them.

Look around, make sure no cops are around, amke sure your car can handle it.

When the light turns green, gun it and smoke the tires. The smoke will end up inside of their car if you're in front of them, and the noise is much more obnoxious than (c)rap album they're bumping.

I got one dude so good it was the greatest revenge. His windows were rolled down, it had just rained and the ground's wet. This Eminem wannabe is bumping his music, and I was next to him. Light turned green and I dumped my clutch, screech the tires, smoke went inside of his cab of the truck, along with the water on the ground.

But, if you're the passive kind, just roll up the windows.

Seeing that the police were no help to you, I would suggest rolling your windows all the way up, and since it's hurting your ears, maybe try carrying ear plugs w/ you in your car... Next time this happens throw you ear plugs in and tune them out!! If you don't like ear plugs, you could always buy a cheap pair of the DJ type of head phones... Those head phones are made specifically to block out outside noise...

Well, probably nothing can be done. The police have to be there to witness the violation.

You can probably write a letter to the editor of your local paper. It won't solve the problem, but you will be able to "air" your frustration in a legal, public manner. And, you will get a lot of sympathy.

I would pray that the light is a quick one and try to get out of there before my eardrums burst.

Sorry for your discomfort. I certainly understand. The world is becoming more and more inconsiderate.

Email to the police man are you on crack. Already that you cant join them on the phone you think that theyre gonna take their time to actually read your email about that. Better luck next time but you fail at life. And by the way, you cant really do anything about their music except block the incoming sound by rolling up your windows and such things,

There's nothing you can do about something like that. The police have more to worry about than noise pollution, and confronting those guys could mean your life. For me, music gets to the point where it is just so loud you can't even hear it, it's just loud noise, but some people like to intimidate and advertise what they are listening to. There is no reason to have it that loud.

I do this all the time... If my kids are in the car, I make a big production about shutting the windows and sunroof. If I'm alone, I turn my radio to a country station and play it even louder than the car next to/behind me.

Absolutetly nothing!

I live in the drive-by shooting capital of Los Angeles and when this happens to me, I roll up my window, and turn up my own radio. Do not look at them with the slightest expression.

You dont want to be capped!

I know it is pretty annoying but there's really nothing you can do except look back and give them a bad look, that's what I do and they usually turn the volume down, but I'm a girl too so maybe that's why they don't chase me down or anything like that....try it...see what happens.

I start bopping around in the car to the tempo. Usually when they see an overweight older man doing this, they lower the volume.

There is nothing you can do about it. It's a waste of time to even consider it beyond the stop light. I roll up my windows.
