Specifically my reading of it is that God made Adam told him the rules and then made Eve.

Are we to think for ourselves on this one, and conclude that Adam told Eve?

Seriously, its not in there, I don't see it, I don't see where God or Adam told Eve the rules.

A lot has been added by tradition to this story. For instance, it nowhere says the fruit was an apple (or any specific fruit for that matter).

Eve explained the instruction to the serpent, though. The problem is, neither Adam nor Eve could comprehend that disobeying God was a morally wrong (i.e., evil) act. Only after they ate it did they even know what good and evil were! How could they be expected to act "morally" (by the standards of this tradition)?

First off I don't believe the whole continued orginal sin. I think the better phrase would have been she was punished for the FIRST sin. Now that is a matter of opinion so just being a pest on that idea. Ok we should assume either Adam told WOMAN the rule(remember she was named Eve when they LEFT the garden not when she was IN the Garden) or we assume that God told her. On the other hand if a serpent came up and offered you some fruit wouldn't you be a little suspicious, ok I guess not in those days but still do you think animals went around offering up fruit in the Garden.

For those who keep saying it was an Apple(instead of the proper title the Fruit of Knowledge) what was the Fruit of Life?

In Genesis 3:2-3 Eve tells the serpent the rule about not eating of the tree. How would she know the rule unless it was told to her?

Obviously someone told Eve cos she had a nice long talk with the snake in the garden. SHE KNEW. Does it matter who told her? She knew! She was responsible for the fall. You know what I like about the story of Adam and Eve. It proves that Eve may have been smarter than her husband on this one. It took a talking snake to convince HER to eat the apple but it only took HER to convince Adam. Poor Adam......

Apparently in Genesis Chapter 2:2 and 3 Eve herself told the serpent about the rule. This means she knew. Whoever told her doesn't matter. She got the the information somehow.

That is a very interesting question....It doesnt say that God or Adam explained the rules to Eve, however, she did still ate the apple.

Where does it say in the Bible that Adam knew that the fruit he was eating was from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam was being punished for a sin he didn't know he committed and Eve was being puished for a sin that she didn't even know was a sin.

It's not really stated, but it could be assumed that she knew whatever he did when she was created from him. It was said that God walked in the garden, so He must have talked to Adam and Eve before they sinned frequently.

Adam was responsible for Eve. They both disobeyed God. It was not about the apple but about obedience.

You need to read it a little closer. Eve even repeated the command to Satan. She knew she wasn't supposed to eat from the tree. (Genesis 3:2, 3)
