especially since my brothers buy video games all the time and never get yelled at. Dad even plays with them, but they also ragged on me when I saved up my own money from my JOB and got my xbox360. Whats up??

Don't worry about it. There's nothing wrong with girls playing video games. I play them all of the time. Ask your parents "what is a lady?" Honey, you have become their whipping post. No matter what you say or do is ever going to be good enough for them. I don't doubt their love for you, but come on, what's wrong with girls playing video games?

I'd tell them I'm human too. Sounds like they have some messed up ideas on what a lady is supposed to be.

girls can play video games....if u like them, tell ur parents flat out "i like playing games, girls play video games, if u 2 dont understand that than u dont understand me" or say "i like video games and i don't like hearing any of ur grief"
or something along those lines

Maybe because they don't expect you to have the same like as your brothers. Don't sweat it. They will cool down once they see you aren't trying to be like the boys.

you parents are silly. that's all there is to it. they are stuck in passe gender roles, and need to catch up to our modern times...though I myself hate video games, if'n you like'em,
