When driving on the motorway, or even driving in general do other road users not follow the highway code? I drive just as fast as everyone else so not dawdling or holding up the traffic. However when you leave a gap someone drives straight into it. On the motorway no one follows the old '2 second' rule and quite often the person who has pulled into the gap is practically on your bonnet. Causing you to brake. Any thoughts?

Because people seem to think that wherever they are going, it is more important and more urgent than anyone else on the road.

The cutting in isn;t the worst thing, it's the undertaking on motorways that really annoys me!

I am an HGV driver, and I have to say some of these so called profesionals are a disgrace, nose to tail driving is a danger to themselves and other road users, I am one who always leaves a safe distance, if the somebody invades my safety space, I have 2 choices, overtake or let the acceerator of for 5 second so as to create a new space, I never drive up the rear of cars lorries, or any kind of transport, as for a new drive, to pass a test is one thing it takes 12 months to become a driver, remember you have to drive for the other idiots on the road, keep with the flow of traffic, no phones, and try and enjoy

Just lay off the speed if somebody cuts in,keep your distance, if it rains double it, if it snows, then times it by 10

Yes, this happens everyday! Many people, I regret to say young people, as well as weathy people in imported cars, feel that they are more important than those who are following in traffic at a safe distance. They feel that where they are going is much more important so they cut in front of us and mentally flip us off!

We are not dawdling, we are just driving far enough from the car in front of us to keep from CRASHING! If they are so hyper and rushed that they must weave in and out of traffic and think that others seem to be too slow, think again. They are the ones who are running late and rushing to risk the accident, because nobody is more important than anyone else when you are driving on the road.

I don't know, but I sure like reading the English English that you write. I am going to try to use more old English expressions like Lorrys and bonnet. I am not making fun of you, I really think it is neat.

Just so you know, it happens here in America too, these whack bast@rds drive right on my *** all the time, big friggin trucks and
Greyhound buses everywhere, not to mention the little rice burners and the hicks from the sticks in their big monster trucks. So I feel your pain sister.

I agree with you. Way back when I learned to drive, my driving instructor taught me the "2 second rule".

People just seem to drive too aggressively now-a-days.

No one seems to know the rules of the road anymore. Period. Everyone seems to have some more important place to be than eveyone else.

Because they are impatient. They think that getting that few feet your car is in length is going to get them to where they are going sooner. They are not only impatient, they are also inconsiderate and crude. Sooner or later, they will have an accident.

Because, sadly, the knobheads think they are immune. Some of them drive like they are indestructible, they are morons.
