What type of name is Dascha? Is it like Russian or something? Don't ask me "what kind of name is that" Because I don't know and that's why I'm asking. Even though I just said that someone will still say something stupid like that! And It's freaking annoying, some of you will do it to annoy me anywayz. But anywaya I really want to know!
ps- I didn't know where to categorize it.

It's actually a nickname for Dagmar...like Betsy is for Elizabeth. It basically translates to "Glorious". It's not German in the truest sense, as it's not widespread throughout Germany. It was a regional name that was most common in the former province of West Prussia...much of which is now Polish. That's why it has a Slavic sound to it.
