Curiosity Killed the Wife. If God can do that, why doesn't He turn all the murderers and pedophiles into pillars of healthy food and feed the innocent starving people in Africa?

Because that would be fixing a problem and "God" cannot fix problems. He can only punish people.

As Carl Sagan put it in CONTACT: "You see, the religious people -- most of them -- really think this planet is an experiment. That's what their beliefs come down to. Some god or other is always fixing and poking, messing around with tradesmen's wives, giving tablets on mountains, commanding you to mutilate your children, telling people what words they can say and what words they can't say, making people feel guilty about enjoying themselves, and like that. Why can't the gods let well enough alone? All this intervention speaks of incompetence. If God didn't want Lot's wife to look back, why didn't he make her obedient, so she'd do what her husband told her? Or if he hadn't made Lot such a sh*thead, maybe she would have listened to him more. If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? No, there's one thing the Bible makes clear: The biblical God is a sloppy manufacturer. He's not good at design, he's not good at execution. He'd be out of business if there was any competition."

No one knows why God does things like He does. That is why there is such a thing as faith. We have to take it on faith that God knows what He is doing. He does not want anyone to starve, and that is why He made the rest of us. We are to HELP each other. The Bible says that we don't know when we are "entertaining" angels unawares. And that means that angels roam the earth, testing us. How do you know that those starving people are NOT angels, sent to test the rest of the world? Well, looks like WE have failed. All of us. That includes you. What are YOU doing to help those people? Have you joined the Red Cross, Salvation Army, or become a missionary to go overseas and help them? This is a good question, and shame on us ALL! God has left a lot of REPAIR work up to His people to complete, and we have failed. Just as he punished Lot's wife for the desire she had to go back, and looking back, He will punish those of us who have greedy desires in our heart to NOT share what we have been blessed with. There are people HERE who are starving too. Start with our neighbors. Help them first.

And Eve was talking to a snake? And Noah had 2 of everything in the ark? And God murdered everyone in Sodom...men, women, and children too?? Listen, I don't pretend to have all the answers to who God is or what he wants for us. And neither should ANYONE else!! The Bilble has many good life teachings in it, but it is also riddled with so many stupid crap! That's because Jesus (or God) didn't write it. It was written by those other guys who lived after Jesus' time and never knew him. Sometimes I think those guys spent to much time in the forest eating mushrooms!! After all, that was not ilegal then! Think about it....

I have always wondered why this god thing would turn Lot's wife into a pillar of salt for looking over her shoulder and then despite hundreds of millions of prayers, would not stop Hitler before he killed 30+ million people in WWII. Either this god is powerless, wicked, both, or does not exist at all.

Because He said He would. This is how He demonstrated His Power. It was also a test of faith for the people leaving the city. If you believed in the Word of God, you need not look back. If you doubted, you looked back and God made an example of you...

The heart of Lot's wife was still in Sin City.

God did that to test their obedience to him. Also because Lot's wife turned back because she missed the city.

Becasue god is a spiter, and a little whiny ***** who abuses his powers.

What a silly question! God did that because God is a sicko who enjoys causing people to suffer - don't you read the Bible?
