HA HA hA haha...... im sorry, but the idea of an actual average in indiana is hilarious, there probably is one, but the weather can change dramatically, like last winter, it was cold for the first couple of weeks, then too warm, then cold, then warm.... and at the end of the season, the weatherguy told us to expect much snow in a coming storm, it didnt start snowing untill 7am and then it stopped a few of hours later. my city only got about 4 in of snow, which melted, and at the end of the day there was no snow left on the ground and it warmed up. i think the weather man said the record for the amount of snow in one snowfall was 6-8 in, and it think the average is 4-5in. the average snowfall per season is about 30in.

I live in Indy and i can tell you...there is no average. One day it could snow, the next it could be 70 degrees. The weather changes dramatically all the time here...if i HAD to give an average. i would say 3-6in per storm...but that is just a guess. sometime it is WAY more sometimes WAY less. Sometimes is doesnt snow at all during the winter. its a toss up every year

There is no such thing as average weather in Indiana. Some winters there has been hardly any snow, other winters there were blizzards and snow dumps.

As the saying goes...If you don't like Indiana weather, wait 5 minutes it'll change...don't go with what the local wethermen say either...if they say we'll get 1-2 inches of snow/rain...then we'll end up in a blizzard/flood

It isn't like Michigan or Minnesota. The winters are generally mild but like the other person said it can change on a dime.

Well, let me tell you. This past winter we had one good snowstorm in December, and I finally decided to buy my husband a snowblower so that he wouldn't have to shovel snow. He hasn't had a chance to use it yet. We don't get snow like we used to.
