yes! it was indescribable (but i'll try! ;) it happened almost exactly 10 years ago & was totally spontaneous. It was an experience of total universal love, unbelievable light & connection. god - has consciousness but not personality, and such love, acceptance and peace. i was unaware of normal time & space, could have been seconds or an eternity. for that time i had total understanding. once you have had this experience it changes you forever, you no longer have to try and believe, you know. it changed me in other ways - i lost all my irrational fears & they've never come back. i stayed in that state of grace for 3 months - everyone who met me at that time said i was shining. the intensity faded, inevitably, necessarily (it's not easy to do the shopping when you have a tendancy to cry at the beauty of humanity!) but the knowledge of the truth & love is still with me.
it's wonderful to read other people's accounts of their experience of the divine, i've only ever met one other person who has had this gift, and i still wonder, why me? i'm by no means a saint, just a person who until then had actually had a fairly traumatic, disordered life.
i've done quite a lot of research and found it described as the mystical experience, peak experience, nirvana. (google these!) it is at the heart of all our religions and is something innate within us. it is that which all prophets come to tell us is possible. unfortunatly, people seem to misinterpret the message a lot of the time, religions often cause so much harm, and people get the idea there is only one path (usually theirs!) the truth is that there are many paths - they all lead to god. so much pain caused by people fighting, saying 'there is only one god, my god' - yes, but he goes by many names, is all gods, infinetely complex and beautifully simple.
wow, wrote more than i meant to! love to you, thankyou for asking the question :) x

i've experienced it more then once.
quite a few times to be exact.
it's the best natural high i've ever experienced, not using drugs or alcohol.
yes, it is life changing. if you're open to god, the holy spirit, forgiven of sin, pure b/4 god, he'll move in your life, as long as u allow him to.
god's the bomb.
i'll never go back to my old life, to my vomit.
god's brought me too far to go back, & to turn my back on god.
god will move in your life, he'll touch u in a powerful way if you're obedient & open to his holy spirit.
amen.you
