Don't know what your lifestyle is like - there are a lot worse things than needing a good name if you pick the wrong breed!

BEFORE you get any dog you should read some great books on training. (Try not to pick books randomly - there are a lot of bad books out there also!) These are some of my favorites and you can get them on Amazon.com
What All Good Dogs Should Know – Volhard http://www.volhard.com/
Good Owners, Great Dogs - Brian Kilcommins
Dog Tricks : Eighty-Eight Challenging Activities for Your Dog from World-Class Trainers by Haggerty and Benjamin
Don't Shoot the Dog - Pryor
Training Your Dog: The Step by Step Method - Volhard
Dog Problems - Benjamin
Cesar's Way - Cesar Millan
Also, watch the Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel. Cesar Millan is the best trainer I've ever seen on TV.

Depends on what kind/ size of dog you want. If you want/ are only allowed to have smaller dogs where you live, jack russells work well. If you want a larger dog and can have it, I'd go for either a dalmation or a golden retriever. I'm actually getting a dalmation myself. And the best places to get dogs? Animal shelters or rescue leagues. As for names, usually you will be able to think of one when you get the dog.

It depends if you want a big dog or a small dog. I have a Jack Russell. He is a lot of work, but a cute cuddly little guy. He loves to sleep in my bed. They need a lot of exercise though. If you wamt a big dog that is not alot of work get some kind of retreiver. Get a dog from local rescues or Humane Society. There are lots of dogs that need a home there.

Search in google Dog Breed Selectors. You take a test and the site matches you up with the best match with all the breeds breed dogs. Dont just get a dog because you think theyre "cute". You have to do a LOT of research.

There are different breeds of dogs with different personalities and behaviors. You should research them and figure out which dog is best for you and your family. Some dogs need more exercise, room to run, etc. You can check out the AKC website for info on breeds. As for names, I like Jake  But that too may make more sense when you meet the dog.

Well, I have a almost 10 year old Bichon frise (sweet small white dog) a 2 year old long haired chihuahua, and a new baby olde english bulldog. The olde english is healthier than the short squatty english, but have a similar look. They are COOL dogs, more expensive than some, but very cool!! If you want a breeders name email me!

Get a papillon. Not only are they beautiful and elegant, but they rank #1 in obedience.

Name a female Lucie and a male Charles :) It's so French and cute :)

This is quite a common name for dogs, whether female or male: Lucky. It's cute too ;)

Go to the humane society or the pound and fall in love with and rescue your new best friend. Call him/her Lucky as they will be lucky and grateful to have a new home, someone to love and love them and the chance to live.
