We don't want to pay for their education. Their own government doesn't pay for it or basic health care because it is really expensive. We pay almost all of the cost of those things for poor people here even when they pay all taxes for thier income group. That is why we limit the number of poor immigrants who can come. We have let this 'slide' way too long because we do feel badly for them. However, our own children can't get a decent education in our border states anymore, our sick can't get health care and our poor can't get services.

We are importing poverty. As you say, we have our own to deal with and our own must come first. The better life for poor foreigners is at our expense. We have to stop allowing our services to be swamped.
