Most famously (or notoriously) in 1066 by William the Conqueror. He conquered England and London, but never the City of London (which is today England's equivalent of Wall Street), so there he is called King William the First. England was also invaded by the Vikings in the early Middle Ages, and by the Romans in 43 AD. Some people say that England is being invaded right now by asylum seekers (what Americans would call "illegal aliens"). And even more right-wing or retrogressive persons would say it's being invaded by Eastern Europeans; but most of those migrants have EU passports so they are here quite legally.

The last time England was invaded was 1066. Plenty of times before that especially by the vikings, romans et al.
Britain and its dependencies have been invaded on a few occasions.
The channel isles were invaded during the 2nd world war, Argentina went into the Falklands and then the Americans attacked Grenada.
Supposedly a deal was struck up to allow the US to win a war because they were really struggling at the time to win anything.

Ok, I have to put in my own uneducated two cents.

England was formed from the Anglos, Saxons and Jutes. The Battle of Hastings in 1066 is why we speak English the way we do now as opposed to Gaelic. Now, i don't know what happened to the Jutes, they were in the story when I was in school.

With the exception of the World Wars, the last English war was in the 1600's I recently read.

I believe Germany tried in WWII but were rebuffed at the shoreline to the English channel (not sure though). And I know France under Napoleon gave it a shot too, they fared better but did not get the whole island.
