My girls have a microwave oven and they use it to prepare dinners they buy at the local supermarket. The kitchen at the end of the hall is used on Fridays for the floor spaghetti nite. There is an oven, stove and dishwasher there. Their frig is stocked with yogurt, peanuts, milk, juice and drinking water. And sometimes when they forget I'm coming over beer.

i know how difficult it can be to make good, wholesome food in a dorm room - i lived in dorms for 3 years!
i made a lot of salads. i would get a bag of salad, olives, bacon bits, cheese, onion, celery ... really load it up with the works and it's a meal! i would get those ziploc plastic containers (~2.00 for 3 at the grocery) and save the canned items like olives, etc.
i don't know where you are, but my local grocery has a lot of items that are fully cooked, then frozen so you can heat them up. there are a lot of options in your freezer aisle for ready-made home style meals that are good and affordable.
there are also whole books about cooking in the dorms ... check your local bookstore.
if you message me with things you like and where you live, i'll give you more ideas. it's hard to say without knowing those things. are you allowed to have a crock pot or rice cooker or george foreman? my dorm didn't allow these things - it debunks a lot of the good recipes mentioned above. :(

One pot meals. Learn to use canned meat and beans. Mix them with instant rice and some water and zap them in the microwave. Use instant mashed potatoes. Just mix in a little instant non-fat dry milk (powder), some butter (or butter flavoring) and some water. Zap in the microwave.

You can always stick with the tried-and-true basics: macaroni and cheese, Ramen noodles, Rice Krispie treats, pancakes, Egg'o waffles, that "soup-in-a-styrofoam-cup" crap, Rice-a-roni (it's the San Francisco treat!), or grilled cheese sandwiches. The possibilities are endless, love!

I saw a book in a college bookstore titled, (I think), "101 Ramin Noodle Recipes", or something similar to this. Try ebay > Books and search under ramin noodles.
