Well, I'm not a "Born Again". I'm a Catholic. And for us, it is a mortal sin to have your body cremated. The body is a temple of the Holy Ghost, we are not to destroy it as if it were trash. We will be using it again after the Final Judgement. A Catholic is denied the mass if they are cremated through their own will.

There is definitely truth to the line in Lord of the Rings, "We shall burn his body, like the Pagan kings of old..."

I'm a born again Christian and I don't mind cremation. It just doesn't matter. The body is just a vessel for the spirit. And the spirit is what matters and what gets judged.

Different way of burial have been practiced since the first death (abel)

God never states in the bible that any one of them are wrong. The first biblically reported embalming was of Joseph by the egyptians.

Cremation is not spoken of at all, but as will all other burial practices is cultural in nature and not disallowed.

I personally have no preference as to what is done with my fleshly body, once I die. God knows where it is and that is all that will matter.

I think that cremation is fine. when we get to heaven we are given new bodies so whether we are buried or cremated it is not important.

I think it doesn't matter...our bodies return to dust..and our souls go to heaven..our bodies are just shells! So I think cremation is fine!

It doesn't matter what happens to your body after death (to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ). The Bible says that we will be resurrected and even the sea will give up it's dead:

1 Corinthians 15
42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. ....
53For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality Revelation 20:13(KJV)
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

I am born again-I don't have a stance. I plan to be buried in the ground in a casket.

The body is a temporary place for the spirit to dewell in. If you die in a fire it is the body that burn not your spirit. Same if a shark ate you....worry if someone is trying to destroy your soul.

welll...if the person didn't want to get ressurecte dby someone then OK...but if he asked for someone to pray for him to ressurrect after he died...then it could be a problem...but anyway there's nothing wrong with cremation.....we don't need our bodies after we die...

I don't have any problem with it. When you are dead your soul is what matters the body is just an empty shell
