theres my uncle and aunt that came by and i barely saw them. I really dislike them for turning one of my favorite cousins into a woman with issues due to their constant pressure and restraints. The few times I did takl to them over the week end just helped confirm the fact that i heavily dislike them. While leaving they offered me 70$ and I refused because the way they gave it was like they tought they were better than me and that they were trying to rally me on their side on the ''fight' with their daughter. I gently declined because ive got too much pride to accept hypocrite people's money. I told the story to my mom and she called me stupid and told me i should've faked liking them and have taken the money. What do you guys think should I have acted like a hypocrite myself and taken the money???

You were right...as you continue in life you will find it is better to "follow your first mind". Sometimes people who you respect like your mom will differ in their opinions of your behavior but trust me that inner voice will tell you whats best for you better than your mom or even the peanut gallery you find here at yahoo answers.

The Love of Money is the root of all evil so in money issues people really get derailed. I say definitely keep your morals and don't lose control over a little filthy lucre. Not that we don't need money to survive...but keep it in its proper perspective and don't be sold easily.

Peace 2 U

Hi, I agree with what you did. I'm proud of you for not accepting the money. Its also important that if you will ever have to deal with them again, you should stick up for what you think is important, but yet do it respectfully- it shouldn't start an argument between you and your aunt.

Tell your mom to ask for it then. You did was right. You have pride and dignity. Don't let ANYONE TAKE THAT FROM YOU.

I think that what you did was right for you. You shouldn't compromise your morals for something.
