I asked if anyone cared what I think, some responded yes they care, others responded no they don't and explained themselves,

In answering no they don't care what I think - but telling me what they think is why they don't care, have they not subjected me to consider their thoughts, a courtesy they wouldn't give to me?
Just a question. Follow up, if they didn't care what I think, in reading the original question, did they have to care long enough in what I said to think about what I said?

no I dont think it is hypocritical- there is a difference between caring about what you think on certain subjects and completely blowing you off as a person. Just because I would not give a second thought or consideration to your ideas that do not line up as truth does not mean that who you are is insignificant. I would not - not give you the time of day-
Same goes with my own thoughts-p I often have thoughts that don't line up with truth- I choose not to spend my time rationalizing, considering, dwelling on them. I don't care about things that don't line up with truth period - doesn't mean I dont care about the person.
Just because you have ideas and thoughts that are false does not make you a bad or insignificant person- it does not give me the right to treat you as less of of person or not care about ANYTHING that comes out of your mouth

I think you are asking a repeating question to make yourself look, or at least to you, feel smarter. In reality, the world does not care about other people. That's human mentality and there's no way around it. Take for example, if you are in an emergency situation, you will look out for #1(that'd be you), as everyone else would look out for thierselves. That's life, deal with it.

Anyone who responded had to have cared about your question or they wouldn't have given an answer, regardless of what their answer was. In giving any answer, they were letting you know that they did care, after all, why would they respond if it didn't matter?

Wow are you really that paranoid about what people think and why would you care what they think? And if you didn't want to read all the advice they wrote back to you why did you ask the question?

No it is not hypocritical, because most people realize that you are also just as free to ignore any of the answers you get.
From experience, I am sure we can both attest to the fact that many people asking questions do seem to ignore some of their answers. :-)
But in your last sentence, yes, you do seem to have found a paradox.

Actually, a lot of people only answer these things for the points. I care what you think... But I in no way agree with any of it. Like that saying, "I may not like what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
