I love you means that you care for the person, and want them to be happy

I am in love with you means you would do anything for the person, you care very deeply, you want to be around the person always

There's no simple answer to something as complicated as love. Even having a crush can be mistaken as being in love. There's someone in my life that I love with all my heart, but I'm not in love with her. I think it has to do with the fact that you can care about someone without necessarily being sexually attracted to that person. If two people are truly in love, it's almost like nothing else in their lives matters. That person is a splash of color in a totally gray world, if you know what I mean.
From what you say, though, it sounds like your friend's boyfriend doesn't exactly feel like that. I'm sure he cares about her, but being in love with her is a totally different thing. Maybe they should talk about it. Communication couldn't hurt. I also think you might want to talk to your friend about it, because you might have more anxiety about this than she does. Don't sweat it. It'll be alright.

You can love your mom but you are not in love with her. Sometimes you care for someone a great deal but you can't be with them because you don't have those "in love" feelings anymore. Honestly it sounds like her bf has found someone else that he's interested in. Normally people don't break for that reason unless they have a back up waiting.

I love you but not in love with you means: They really don't want to be with that person anymore even though they still have love for them.

ARe you in love with your mom and dad? Im not, thats love, being in love is what you experience with a significant other. He cares for her but doesnt think she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

This is a mind game play. Either you love or do not love. I completely disagree with the terms "in love" or "love"

to be in love wit someone means that u love them on a deeper level than u would love ne1 else to love someone would be like how u love a relative, friend, or pet being in love wit someone means u feel love for them on a more intimate level n by intimate i dont mean sexually

It technically means the same thing. So he is messing with the English language. He seems like he is not good at communicating. Maybe he means that he just wants sex but not marriage.
