Haven't fully decided whether I want to go Nobo or Sobo, but either way I am doing it in 2007. Looking for fellow hikers who may be interested in going.

There are two great sites for those interested in hiking the AT. One is www.whiteblaze.net. Beside lots of info and advice, you'll find a forum that includes info about the 2007 hiking season.
The second site is www.trailjournals.com. Here you'll find daily posts from some of this years hikers as well as journal entries from folks planing 2007 thru-hikes.
On either of these sites you should be able to post a bulletin on their forum pages seeking hiking companions for 2007.
On the other hand, if you show up at Springer Mountain anytime from March 20 til the end of April you are guaranteed to not have to hike alone!

My friend is planning on hiking the AT with his dog next year. He's already in good condition (the dog, but him as well) but he's planning on doing some shorter hikes with him carrying increasing loads in the dogs pack. Having a good time on the AT with you dog involves a LOT of planning. Especially for how you plan to feed your dog. It's harder on dogs that have food intolerances, and finding kibble if you run out can be difficult on the dogs stomach if you have to go with what's available. The best part about hiking with your dog is having your best friend there with you. We've gone on camping trips with ours, and because our dogs are very well trained, it's always been a pleasure having them along to hike, boat and swim with. If your dog (general you) is unruly and doesn't walk well on a leash, then hiking anywhere, not just the AT is going to present more problems for you. In addition, a dog that has not been conditioned well is going to have a very hard time of it. Paws get sore, muscles that haven't been used get pulled, and then you have to take a longer amount of time to get to a town where you can rest and let your dog heal up. If you do plan on one day taking your dog, you'll need to remember to bring a doggie first aid kit, and possibly take a first aid/emergency aid course geared towards dogs, in case of the unexpected. Good luck on your hike!

Much as i want to, that would be very expensive. Im from the Philippines. Better if we got sponsors to finance the trip. That is one of my dreams as a mountaineer.
