Let the poor hawk go. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Don't leave your pet birds out where raptors can get at them.
Honestly, if any of that's true, I hope the hawk managed to bite you hard enough to make you come to your senses.

Take my bird back, scream at the hawk as I took it far, far away from whereever I kept my bird and let the stupid thing go. Hopefully it won't grab any more birds!

depends if the pet bird is ok take the hawk to a rehabilitating sort of place, but if it was injured or murdered, i would take that hawk and bash it's skull in and then feed it to a wood chiper :)
