European countries are not made up by immigrants like Unites States.
A person of any ethnicity can be American by passport(if he marries a US citizen or wins the Green Card lottery).
In Europe there is no GC lottery, so you can obtain citizenship through marriage only, unless you have immediate relatives . I hear Ireland will have a Green Card lottery soon to boost their economy - only specialists of various scientific fields can apply.
