No contest.
They are both whiskeys, but two different types, with different tastes. Jim beam is largely distilled from corn, while Jack is distilled out of grain. Jack is also filtered through charcoal, and lacks the limestone filtered water evident in Jim Beam.
They are captains of different ships.

Jim Beam is Bourbon.
Jack Daniels is Tennessee Sour Mash.
Personally, I prefer Jack over Jim Beam...but if you are asking about good bourbon, I have about 20 different kinds on my shelf. My favorite is Makers Mark.
Oh, and FYI...Mandi, before you go bashing on other people, get your facts straight. Knob Creek is made by Jim Beam.

With coke, you can't tell them apart. Regular Jack is more harsh than JB, but still better. Gentleman Jack is smoother than both. Single Barrel Jack is the manliest, and JB Black label is the best on the rocks.

Ugh, neither. I prefer Knob Creek.
And that little "You're an alcoholic...get a job" remark, is coming from someone who at her "job" answers questions on yahoo answers all day long. Some life she has, right? She's probably 12 years old. How cute! I wouldn't take it personally ;)
