""HOW CAN I PROVE IT "?" By being a good friend and fulfilling your duties. DO NOT try to outshine the couple during your speech to try and prove yourself. Be honest and heartfelt and you'll do fine.

Oh, and don't let him get sunburned.
Don't let him get drunk the night before (or that day).
Don't lose the ring - or even joke about it.

Well, it's a bit like Best Answer, really. It's all a bit of a fallacy.

Come on! The Best Man at a wedding has GOT to be the Groom but you couldn't refer to his side-kick (who, by the way, has to marry the bride if the groom doesn't turn up) as 'Second-Best Man'!

So, you don't need to prove anything really - because you would fall over your own logic trying to do so (and very likely swallow the ring into the bargain).

Have fun at the wedding - and don't imbibe too freely *before* your speech! Oh ... and if you have a 'punch line' or a quote or whatever at the end of your speech, write in an alternative! I upstaged my son-in-law's Best Man by using exactly the same quote that HE was going to use and, poor chap, he didn't have another one handy!

By being there for him from now through the wedding and even after that. Get things organized with the other guys in the party like tux fittings and such. Take him out for some type of celebration before the wedding. This does not have to include strippers as tradition would tell you!

if he choose you to be the best man don't you think that he already knows that you are the best man for the job otherwise why didn't he choose someone else. you don't have to prove anything to anyone and if you know that you are the best man then what does it matter what anyone else think? You know God knows and apparently the groom knows it.
