First thing: try to follow a mono-diet for two or three days. A mono-diet is a diet consisting of only one kind of food. Good examples for inflamed bowels include: ripe bananas, cooked apples, broth or vegetable soup.
I think your best option would be vegetable soup. You can use potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. Cook them until very tender. You can also pass the cooked vegetables through a sieve so that there is no fiber left. Eat this creamy soup three or four times a day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and supper.
After three days on this soup-diet, proceed to introduce solid foods into your diet.
Breakfast: white bread + a little butter + herbal tea or black coffee (no milk)
Lunch: white rice or cooked potatoes + meat or fish or eggs + very well-cooked veggies + a little raw veggies (at the end or in the middle of the meal)
Snack: a little raw fruit (very well chewed)
Dinner: just like lunch.
Don't eat between meals. Once in the week, repeat the soup diet. Drink water some time before your meals. Avoid dairy and junk foods.
Rest as much as possible. Exercise a little in the afternoon.

You mean Irritated bowel syndrome? I have it. It gives me diareah all the time. The only thing I found that helps me control the bowel movements is drink citracel fiber or other fiber drink before every meal. It helps stop some of the diareah and gives you more time to get to the bathroom. Also, stay away from carbonated soda pop. The carbonated water will irritate your bowels. Eat lots of water soluable fiber, that's fiber that goes through your system the same way it goes in. It does not break down. I hear white bread without preservatives will help. Sometimes I munch down a white bread roll to calm my bowels down.

If you are having Diarrhea you need to stay hydrated so go with Gatorade that is not citrus flavored.
Stay away from spice, oils, anything that agitates the bowels.

High fiber, lots of fruits and vegetables. I have heard that periodic fasting can also be of great benefit to people with colitis (not sure if that is what you have). Look for a book about the how-to's of fasting.
