A light (non saucy) veggie side dish. Plus a tossed salad and some artisan type of bread or rolls or garlic bread.
Some ideas, how about:
a) some steamed fresh green beans with strips of roasted red peppers for color. Perhaps a nice tossed green salad and some garlic bread.
b) A steamed green veggie goes well, like steamed Broccoli with lemon & olive oil, or steamed artichoke - with whatever type of dipping sauce you like
c) Roasted red peppers with sweet onions in olive oil and then sided with garlic bread crostinis
d) Grilled yellow squash and zucchini, marinate in Italian dressing for couple of hours
e) Sauteed broccoli
f) Seafood like shrimp, crabs meat
g) Roasted baby artichokes or roasted asparagus with lemon and garlic and parmesan
h) Chicken breast halves over a bed ot the pasta and garnish with basil
Enjoy /////

While white pasta of various shapes and sizes covered in melted mozzarella or cream sauce tastes amazing, it can really pack on the pounds. Unfortunately, a huge plate of fettuccine Alfredo is not the way to go.
Tips:
# Instead of cream or rose sauces, order tomato or vegetable-based sauces such as arrabiata or primavera with your pasta.
# Stay away from fattening appetizers such as garlic bread au gratin and Caesar salad, and try a minestrone soup instead.
# Don't order anything parmigiana, as it is breaded and covered in melted cheese; rather, order your chicken or veal in a lemon or wine based-sauce (just make sure it isn't full of butter or cream as well).
# Avoid ordering baked pasta dishes such as lasagna and cannelloni, as these contain a lot of cheese and sauce, and order regular pasta like spaghetti or penne instead.
What to order: Veal scaloppini with lemon and a small side of pasta in tomato sauce.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.
