My little brother had the same problem when we were kids. Sometimes they grow out of it, but it takes a long time- as you know for yourself.

Have you tried giving the boy coffee? That does help in some cases. Ask the doctor about it.

For structure- My brother seemed to do best when he attended a military academy. Unfortunately, those do cost.

Go to your local health and nutrition store there is a juice there called Noni and the difference it has made to many children with the same issues as yours are amazing. It works on the whole system making things much more clear for them. I have a personal friend that has a very hyper boy and he was getting Fs in school. He was on meds too and it did absolutely no good for him. They started him on an ounce of Noni Juice in the morning and then when he got home from school. Now its July and hes been getting As and Bs and there is so much difference in his way of thinking and just the way he functions in general that personally I myself can tolerate being around him for more than an hour. He is no longer on the meds . A litre of Noni Juice can range in price from $30 -$45 and honestly it seems like you also have nothing to lose by trying this. You can look this up online through google to research its effects on people. I also use it myself lol and many celebs are taking it also . Please let me know how this works for you too.

My daughter is 8 and has been on conserta since she was 6. This spring she was out of control once again and I brought her in to the Doctor and they had to up her dose. It keeps her level but she likes to draw and write so I make sure I have plenty of paper and books for her to keep her busy and lots of different projects put aside. It is working great and I can get 30 min break here and there. I also have in therapy with a child psychologist which seems to make a big difference.

I think boys today are not active enough. Get him into a sports or music. Maybe drums. NO SODA! In food today there are so many chemicals, sugar, etc. When you food shop stay out of the center of the store . If you notice the good stuff in all on the outer edges and all the junk is in the middle. You'll save money also. Include him in meal prep and come up with good drinks like smoothies, your own flavored water. Kids love that. Stay active with you son, don't expect kids to entertain themselves all the time they can't. And for goodness sakes let them get dirty. It's good for their soul....Best of luck.

my son is 6 yrs old with adhd. He is on adderall. Without his meds he really is a handful. I feel your pain. Be patient with him and keep him on his meds. My doctors says that some children with it can grow out of it, But most likely he will have it the rest of his life. It can be controlled with the meds and tons of patients.. If ya need someone to talk to i'll be glad to talk with you. Email me if you like staceyd20052001@yahoo.com. Good Luck and God Bless

They should grow out of it. I don't believe in "chemical brain imbalances". You kid just has a unique personality.
